Multifunctional zone City Hub Trenčín
DESIGN OF THE OBJECT
The design of a new construction for a multifunctional zone City Hub, consists apartment buildings, senior housing objects, a cultural center, underground garages and buildings serving as a technical equipment of the site, as one functional unit in Trenčín with a total area of 53,357 m2. In total, the design considers the creation of 645 housing units and 84 apartments, as well as areas of civic amenities, such as shops, services, cafes or office spaces. The zone is oriented in the north-south and east-west directions. In the northern orientation of the longer facades, there are balconies on the shaded sides of the buildings, from which the individual floors are accessible. The arrangement of the buildings creates a central square in the middle of the complex with water areas with a bridge, residential terraces, greenery and paved areas, raised to the level of the 2nd floor, to segregate pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

By creating a square surrounded by buildings, with the help of steel pergolas and gates, the square can be divided into a private space, serving only the residents of the buildings, a semi-public space, also serving visitors to services, and a public space, unrestrictedly accessible to all. This will ensure maximum safety of the given location, but also the required number of visitors, which is expected to be high, given the proximity of the Váh river and the cycle path leading along the crown of the dam. A cycle path is being considered around the perimeter of the plot, in combination with a pedestrian walkway, which can ensure the connection of Brnianska and Ľudovíta Stárka streets and at the same time offers the opportunity to „discover“ the nooks and crannies between the proposed buildings, where several playgrounds are being considered, whether for younger or older children, as well as workout-type playgrounds, community gardens, shading pergolas, water areas, etc. The buildings around the perimeter of the plot are set on the terrain, the elevation increases towards the center of the plot to the central square. Under the square, connected to internal communications, there are entrances to underground garages, ensuring the requirements of static traffic balance. Parking spaces are also being considered on the terrain. The internal roads are divided into a main road and a circular road which serves the entire complex and connects Ľudovíta Stárka and Brnianska Streets via two junction intersections. To maintain the gradient to the central square, three tunnels are created above the road, which also serve the entrances to the garages and service roads for access by emergency services, as well as for the parking needs of residents and tenants.
